Compelling. Nice added drama of a race against time to the fabric store. Beautifully manicured nostrils.

4.5, a good example of how a person in his day-to-day life can leave the world a better place.

Plastic bag pillow is my friend. It keeps me warm and makes me feel good when I lean back on it. Protects my sore spine from a crappy wooden frame futon.
Are you selling these?

Great idea for reusing plastic bags! This film has lovely images and is well edited. The filmmaker has made a charming and thoughtful film. Greenthumbs Up!

is the wool organic?

I too have many bags under my kitchen sink. Where are these "fabric stores" you speak of, so I can make my own plastic bag pillow.

Great use of those plastic bags that you sometimes just can't avoid. You really could sell those...or imagine how soft those pillows could be if you could shred the plastic bags first (which would admittedly take energy and be a health hazard).

I LOVE THIS! I'm going to have to do the same thing as Ive encountered the same problem. All my friends and family save their bags for me because of the fits I throw when they throw them away, but then Ive developed a RIDICULOUS collection of them. Now I'll just have a great pile of pillows! :]
Posted by: Jazmyn | March 4, 2007 12:43 PM
Plastic is so energy intensive to manufacture, few people probably recognize the cumulative effect of these bags' manufacture. I wonder-- was the pillow comfortable and did you have enough bags to make more pillows and sell them?
Posted by: LT Redman | March 5, 2007 11:50 AM
wonderful idea..anyone can do this and you thought of it!
Posted by: Bluma | March 5, 2007 9:29 PM
I think you have come up with a simple solution that solves a problem and makes a useful alternative to filling our environment up with junk plastic. Thank you, I think this is an excellent children's project for my husbands grade four class, it will teach a skill and provide a creative solution. They will love it.. and I have lots of scrap fabric! Thank you

You're clearly misrepresenting the environmental impact of over-harvesting our valuable, natural plastic bag resources. In just a few years, majestic shopping bags may no longer be dotting trees on the side of the road, and a dangerous black market of underground sandwich bag trading will spring up, costing the nation billions in the War On Plastics. Do you have any idea how painful it is to smuggle 1000 garbage bags in your rectal cavity?

We would like three matching pillows please. -mm
Have you thought of making a pillow of bags filled with wool? -kj
You should make a pillow person. Do you remember those? -cm
Very innovative. Maybe your next step is to use canvas bags. xoxo the girls

A real winner on several levels: 1. A young adult who obviously "gets it". 2. A very practical use of a "nuisance product" for endless purposes (pet beds - terrific insulating properties in these bags -, pillows, inexpensive furniture cushions," toss toys "for toddlers, on and on. 3. the producer's awareness that these bags are aesthetically destructive (bags in trees) as well as environmentally so. 4. A male who easily adopts a traditionally female skill for the benefit of the "big picture". Hurrah!!

Excellent points made, shows that each individual can do something. Just make up your mind and Do IT. Great idea!

I really love this video. Even though I had read the title obviously, the ending still came as a suprise. I thought it was well presented, well shot, well edited. I just loved it.

nice work. Great ending.
