Hi Josh, I'm not quite sure how to respond. Pete and I make videos about environmental issues for nonprofits -- mostly low-budget, promotional stuff. When we heard about this contest we brainstormed some ideas with friends, took a few days off work, and had some fun putting them together. It's not about the prizes for us, it is about testing out a few different messages and approaches to educating the public on climate change and getting reactions from a random assortment of people. If you have any other comments to our vids (other than you're tired of seeing our "name") fire away...

I think Josh was, well, joshing.
I thought it was funny anyway!

I am not sure where they got there figures but each bulb prevents 450 pounds of carbon dioxide, not 1000 pounds, according to energy star.
I would love to know how they got 1,000 pounds
check out energy stars webpage, last sentence

Hi Matthew,
The 1,000 pounds figure came from the Environmental Defense, "Make the Switch" campaign:
http://www.environmentaldefense.org/page.cfm?tagid=483&campaign=mts
The flight and car figures come from the carbon offset calculator at Terra Pass:
http://www.terrapass.com/
But I'll admit, there seems to be a lot of variability in the numbers that are out there.

Great video -- really creative in the presentation and the music bed was very nice, went really well with the visuals. When this whole contest is over, let's pull together a bunch of the videos and get them shown in our communities. Change a Light Bulb will change some opinions about what people can do.
