Great message- thanks. This is really good.

Once the phrase came up at the end, it made me appreciate the nature clips much more. Great point, good job!

Inspiring and entertaining...going green never goes out of fashion!

Great video...content and presentation. Informative & entertaining

This is a very well organized and thoughtout video. I like that it goes back forth in history showing efforts then and now to clean up our world.

So...when will we all do something...the price we pay is going up every second..GREAT VIDEO! Is anyone listening to these voices of the past?

So true, it's time to wake up!
Posted by: joedee | March 3, 2007 8:33 AM
That was great! All found footage. Good example of digital recycling.

Awesome use of old and new ways to save the earth. Very smooth and fluid and makes one think...hey, it's time to wake up and be responsible.

Wow! This made me sit up and take notice. Great editing!

Great message. Great advice. Nicely packaged.

Serious and interesting at the same time. Not everyone can do that so well.

Awesome! History got us into this mess! Now history will get us out of it!

perfectly simple & to the point - with a haunting quality. Well excecuted!
Posted by: el | March 4, 2007 12:51 PM
By far the hippest video in this entire contest.
Posted by: Beggan | March 4, 2007 1:20 PM
Nice work - but you used the word "Tidal Wave" - very bad! The correct word is "Tsunami". Also, neither earthquakes nor tsunamis have anything to do with climate change or human activity (except tangentially as we build shoddily in locations that maybe we shouldn't).

Great video! Amazing to see that the awareness has been there all the time... will we act as an individual, a community, a nation, a planet this generation round to insure a future for the next generations? Keep up the great work! Fantastic creative effort - great use of "recycled" footage! Fun to watch, yet the message gets across... Loved it!!
Posted by: Kammie | March 4, 2007 9:21 PM
Well done. You are right on target...let's hope people pay attention.

not only does this video address natural conservation, but also informational and historical conservation and preservation as well! 5!

Hey guys- your video is the best here- cool old footage and great message+ cool music..
Posted by: EDEN | March 7, 2007 10:31 AM
A breath of fresh air!
This video confirms what we've known for a long time. Our government has failed. Now it's up to us!
Posted by: edc | March 7, 2007 11:35 AM
Very engaging and motivating - gets me interested in helping the planet and reminds us all that nothing will change unless we do something! Love the line about group effort being individual effort multiplied - together, little steps can add up to a big change!
Posted by: annie | March 7, 2007 2:56 PM
Thanks for your kind comments everyone! Taurellio - thanks for your comment too, but YOU try finding 40-year old footage that says "tsunami" instead of "tidal wave"! "Tsunami" just wasn't in popular usage back then. We sacrificed a little bit of the PC quotient to keep it all re-purposed footage and (along with the earthquakes you also mention) to indicate sensationalist scare tactics before the "whoa, stop!" sober assessment of the situation and how to tackle it. I had hoped that message was self-apparent.
Posted by: BunCha | March 7, 2007 8:16 PM
Fantastic video guys! Love the editing and, of course, the message. I hope you win!
Posted by: Bryn | March 9, 2007 12:51 PM
Very well done. Clever use of recycling in a new sense. I am amazed at all the footage you were able to piece together.
Posted by: Beth | March 9, 2007 10:06 PM
I LOVE this video. It was so creative and I love how you made your point using recycled material. BRILLIANT!

total 5! clear, succinct, visually captivating, and thought provoking--all the things a strong ad needs to be.
Posted by: juniper | March 11, 2007 12:22 PM
Hats off to the filmmaker(s). Superb editing and storytelling. Most eerie to hear the warnings of people 30-40 years prior telling us what should have been doing then, what we should be doing now. And we still don't listen. We've got to demand that films like this be put on a compilation and shown in screenings across the country and around the world. Congratulations, folks. This one moved me.

Wow, guys, we are totally blown away by all these amazing comments - thank you! We're so glad people seem to be enjoying the video, it's definitely an important cause and there are so many inspired and inspiring videos here - let's hope the message gets heard well beyond the Treehugger community!
Posted by: BunCha | March 12, 2007 7:46 PM
I love how the messages are conveyed in a way that makes it seem like our society figured out what to do decades ago. We just somehow lost our way-- and now we just need to get back on track. Well done all around!
