Yo - you're film is AWESOME. we all LOVED it!
love, the peeps who made the DREAM Big video
Posted by: The DREAM Program | March 2, 2007 12:06 PM
I have so far viewed 9 of the videos. THIS is my absolute Favorite! The presentation is Excellent, visual, script, audio, concept, underlying Message...all GREAT! It is 'compelling', sincere, humorous but it brought a few tears to my eyes because the message matters so very much. Really Great!
Posted by: Demelza | March 2, 2007 2:45 PM
That was very funny and well done!
Posted by: kadavy | March 2, 2007 7:38 PM
Where're the rest of the funny people in the world responding to global warming????
Posted by: L-Money | March 3, 2007 2:43 AM
I laughed. I cried. It was better than CATS. I sent 3 boxes of snow, registered mail. Please look for it.
Posted by: David | March 3, 2007 8:05 AM
Brilliant! I love it.
Posted by: Flo | March 3, 2007 10:18 AM
LOVED THIS!!!! Studies have shown that people retain educational messages better through the use of humor. WICKED WONDERFUL!

Posted by: Geoff | March 4, 2007 10:12 PM
Wow, these guyz are FaBuLoUs! Funny, smart, informative, passionate, and FAST!...I just ordered my snow from them 2 days ago and received it promptly this afternoon....Now that's Cool!

Where's the pragmatism in this. This video makes environmentalists look foolish and doesn't point to any positive solutions. That's why the man above posted the criterion for judging these video which many people above have apparently ignored.
Posted by: Kristen | March 5, 2007 1:16 PM
This is totally cute. It makes me want to pay attention!
Posted by: cfinney | March 5, 2007 2:28 PM
based on the aforementioned criterion I have to say that YES this is inspiring. Yes, it is pragmatic -- it's using the time honored tactic of HYPERBOLE to make a point. Yes, it is compelling - it makes me want to do something...and gleefully so.
And using the power of Pause (and dry-erase post its) I've compiled their subtitles.
First, the DOs:
Assess the Problem
Check Facts
Take Personal Action
Use Tools to Accelerate Action: social networking, letters to the editor and congrees
Consider the ends AND the means
Eat local organic food (love that he ate the nose off the snowman)
Involve your community
Engage your neighbors
Get Help from Businesses and Governments
Insist on sustainable policies
PERSISTENCE PAYS OFF
And the DON'Ts
Leave your freezer door open
Consume more than you need
Believe passion makes up for bad tools
Rob Future Generations
Fear Rejection
Let Them off the Hook
Send Fossil Fuels to the Arctic
FOSSIL FUELS BLOW (snow)
So there you go. I'm motivated and there are things I can do. It's not as specific as some of the other videos but so what? It's engaging and inspiring -- and that counts for so much.
Posted by: Emily | March 5, 2007 4:43 PM
Ho! Hey! I think some people are missing the point :P
It's a satire, right? - seems to me the characters in the skit are not environmentalists - they're clowns, lampooning the ridiculousness of trying to "fix" global warming by "buying" or "sending" our way out of it.
Solving global warming means thinking deeply about exactly WHAT we do and HOW we do it - precisely UNLIKE the goofballs in the video. In my opinion, that's the point.
I appreciate the humor these boys are injecting into what we all know is a serious issue. Laughter works too! I love it!
PS -No offense, but I know what the rules are for rating the videos! :)
PPS - There IS "pragmatism," it's in the text!...look again, i swear i saw it...

I just love the raking of the snow... NEED BETTER TOOLS! This video send a great message in a humorous and memorable way. Nice job guys!

Posted by: Daz Murphy | March 8, 2007 7:00 AM
fun idea. not only are polar bears losing habitat but they are becoming hermaphroditic due to the pollution that pumped into the air via factories of all sorts.
Posted by: Brooke Smith | March 9, 2007 2:16 PM
This is the best!!!! Ben and Mark are the best!!
It's interesting, eye catching and absolutely brilliant!
Posted by: Stacy | March 9, 2007 4:03 PM
Hey Mark, it's Jamie from the climate project! Great video! Keep up the good work!!!
Posted by: Jamie Harkins | March 9, 2007 5:57 PM
I commented previously and after reading the majority of comments, I am now going to comment on the majority of videos based on the criteria. So many of the submissions are cute, funny, but without any real content or message.
This was a fun idea but was it:
*Inspiring - if one read the text then yes, if one watched the guys running around, then no.
*Pragmatic - with the text, yes. video no.
*Compelling - not really

No screeching preaching, just very to the point in a laugh out loud manner.

You guys are silly and smart. I love it!
Posted by: Debbie La Puma | March 13, 2007 12:11 PM
I'm really glad you guys are giving up the day jobs and going after the acting thing. You're going to be huge stars...and save the planet while you're at it. Have a safe journey and don't get in too much trouble. The bears are counting on you! Hell, the humans are counting on you. Que les vayan bien!
Posted by: Austin | March 13, 2007 9:22 PM
Very nice Ben! We hope you get enough snow, although right now it is pretty darn cold in Alaska we are having an unusually LONG winter so the polar bears are fat and happy...I guess people took you seriously and sent the cold too...can we send some of the cold back? Please?
We could call it "sharing the wealth and joy" that is ice, snow and hypothermia!
This is a very funny and smart piece. We'd like to thank you from the frozen north (I guess we know who to blame now for our nasty cold snap).
Take care and say HI to Julie for us!

I love the image of Mrs Claus swimming in the arctic. You should submit that to threadless.com. It would be the global warming tshirt.
Awesome job, guys.
Posted by: Laura Chao | March 15, 2007 1:20 AM
What do we do when the global climate changes affect the amount of snow available to ship to the Arctic?? Uh ohhhh....
Great vid.. Can't wait to see and inform more.

Fabulas guys, a little fun and humor and a huge educational message. I think you've cracked it, well done indeed.
I am fed up with reading sad depressing stories on how we are destroying our planet, this one being a breath of fresh air. It runs alongside other more serious stories really well. We need both types of education to make the difference, as we are all individuals fighting one huge problem.
