Great concept and learning tool for all generations. Animation incorporates so much helpful information in both visual form and spoken re-enforcement. This is humorous and fun to watch - I'm off to change my lightbulbs !

Really love the entry "Zerot the Carbon foot Princess." It touches on such current language and concerns and while it entertains it also packs allot visually and verbally about the real issues. Also let's us know the simple things we all can do!! Gives a bit of hope!
Loved it!

zerot the carbon foot princess
clearly the most creative and inventive entry.given that the messages are all very similar .the delivery ,sound and thought behind this entry is heads and shoulders above the rest

The Carbon Foot Princess, by far the best of them all. Covers all topics, and is simple and attainable for the average citizen. It held my interest, and humour always....ALWAYS....captures our attention. Great animation! Great message!

full of fun, lovely presentation and great animation...........message well delivered!!!! good work!

By far the most refreshing animation and entry in this contest - thoroughly enjoyed it! Covers most of the key issues facing our earth today. Plus, it includes easy, everyday solutions for us to make green living a breeze. (Green) thumbs up!

The carbon foot princess tells us all what we need to do, with a presentation that doesn't make me feel as though I'm being lectured...
Really fun and so informative.

A fun presentation that will capture the imagination of our youth, and make them realize it is up to us to make the difference. It addresses the issues very clearly and provides solutions that we can all start now to make a change. The humour and movement was fast paced and kept my interest, I know it will work well for all ages. Great concept, superhero fairy.... she will be a star!
well done.

This Carbon Foot Princess sure carries some heavy weight on her shoulders. If only we could all be like that. Or at least be half as sane! I must say this animation addresses the main issues affecting the environment now and is definitely one of the best that puts everything across clearly in a creative manner. Go princess go!

since p.m. harper has taken an "interest" in environmental issues, the canadian government should pay the creator of this educational/entertaining gem and air it on television and the internet as a public service announcement. children and adults will certainly pay attention. we actually may believe p.m. harper when he exclaims his belief in global warming. excellent piece that is imaginative and thought-provoking. great job. i'm inspired.

After two hours of viewing every one of the entries, I am impressed with the contest and congratulate the organizers. Also, I must admit, most entries are aimed at a particular audience. HOME SWEET HOME, LIFE OF A CANDY WRAPPER, and A CONVENIENT TRUTH are my runners up, but my vote goes to John Crossen's THE CARBON FOOT PRINCESS because it speaks to a vast audience through humor. This is an entry that people will watch every time it's aired because, for sure, they'll see something new each time. Congratulations, Mr. Crossen.

Lots of simple steps that anyone can take are encompassed in the video. It is presented in a non-preachy fashion that would appeal to a broad audience, while still entertaining the viewer.

What a fun approach! This is a great way to equally grab the attention of kids and adults. I think animation is a great way to help viewers envision a greener world. Great job!

Laughter helps us to connect for change. Good job John!

Nothing like going outside the humour box to deliver a message. I had to watch it several times to find all the visual and spoken puns. I loved the Hummer swat! This feature is funny, educational without being preachy and has a snappy ending.

Nothing like a fairy to get a point across!!
I admit, I'm not always as environmentally conscious as I should be, but this delightful little short is like a "spoon full of sugar helping the medicine go down."
Love it!!...and James Ong's music perfectly underscores the message!

The keep it simple theory is a proven winner again. This was fun to watch ,but delivers the message loud & clear.Great job ,good luck to all of us on a greener lifestyle.

My kids and their young friends keep wanting to see the "princess." The family has watched many of the entries and we appreciate the entire concept of the contest. Now the children want to see Zerot yet again so it's certainly getting the message across to them!

I got the biggest laugh when the fairy zapped that "Bad attitude" Hummer off the highway. Very memorable zerot carbon foot cartoon!

An artistic endeavour, whether it aesthetically and conceptually engaging or simply entertaining, has the capacity to captivate. John Crossen's, "The Carbon Foot Princess", does this in way that is both delightful and delicious without being overly didactic. We love being entertained, educated, and inspired in this way!

Turning smoke stacks into solar windmills; Now that really is a good idea. Fun animation was easy to understand for the entire family.

The Zero Carbon foot Princess was the most popular with my entire 2nd grade classroom. Being a school teacher I appreciate the way it held my young students attention and captured their imaginations.

Gentle and humourous; great message for everyone, but especially appropriate for children. Great animation!
Posted by: Kiki | March 11, 2007 2:37 PM
when I first viewed mr crossen's entry, I thought it playful and clever, but a little too preachy. then I viewed a random selection of others and boy is crossen's head and shoulders above the rest, they are uniformily terrible - no imagination and no technique. only the guy from Brazil about how bad cows are for the environment caught my interest. Crossen's is the only one I saw that would appeal to children, who must be brought on board if we are to solve this problem.
Posted by: Richard | March 15, 2007 10:07 PM
By far the best video of the bunch! Very imaginative and certainly entertaining. This one is a winner for sure.
